There’s something special about taking your workout outside. Whether it’s a bootcamp in the park, a brisk walk, outdoor Boxercise, or strength training in the fresh air, exercising outdoors can boost both your physical and mental wellbeing.
Fresh air and natural light can help improve mood, reduce stress, and increase energy levels. Many people also find outdoor workouts feel less intimidating and more enjoyable than exercising indoors. Uneven terrain, hills, and changing weather conditions can also challenge the body in different ways, helping to improve balance, coordination, and overall fitness.
Outdoor exercise can also help you stay consistent. Being surrounded by nature or training with others in an open space often makes workouts feel more social, motivating, and fun. Even a short session outside can leave you feeling refreshed and re-energised. I love noticing the seasons change.
At Jump Edinburgh, our outdoor fitness sessions are designed to be welcoming, supportive, and suitable for different fitness levels — helping you build strength, confidence, and fitness while enjoying the outdoors. I run Outdoor Fitness classes in Morningside, including Bootcamp at Meadowspot Park and Boxercise at Morningside Park. We would love to welcome new members along.
